Why Budgeting Tools?

This site provides a set of tools that I will actually use. Further, it's a well-understood domain that can be easily unit tested and won't distract from the main purpose of this project, which is learning about the Yii Framework

Why Yii Framework?

PHP is readily available on all hosted environments.

From the Yii site: Yii is a free, open-source Web application development framework written in PHP5 that promotes clean, DRY design and encourages rapid development. It works to streamline your application development and helps to ensure an extremely efficient, extensible, and maintainable end product.

This site tools that I find personally useful for managing my budget. The tools can be accessed via the tabs or via this list:

Returns you to this page
Parse Expenses
This page converts Mountain America and Chase account history to a standard shorthand that can be e-mailed and used in calculations
Calculate
This page sums a list of payments and expenses. The transactions must match the format produced by the Parse Expense Text link.
Group Transactions
This page groups transactions by the category and then sorts the transactions within each group chronologically and the groups themselves alphabetically. Each group is preceded by a summary showing the number of group transactions and the group transaction totals.
